After winning  the Sintra Contest in Portugal Frenchman Amaury is now the new World Champ for 2010. Amaury  rating is so far in front that he’s now unbeatable in the world title race.

EVENT UPDATES: SWELL IS UNRULY FOR THE SCION JENKS PRO FIRST LAY DAY

To all media and riders:


The SCION Jenks Pro was called off for day to due to unfavorable conditions. Lumpy large surf hit the New Jersey Shore early on September 2nd and did not provide the proper conditions to run the round one of the Mens Pro.

     A free surf went down mid day with Jeff Hubbard, Jason Bitzer, Dan Worley, Spencer Skipper and other top USBA riders, however there was only one hour total of contest worthy conditions. Contest organizers are looking to hold off tomorrow for Hurricane Earl’s bad weather and will be running the entire Mens Pro Saturday the 4th of September.

Wednesday Sept 1st- Day 1 Drop Knee Pro Completed.

Thursday Sept 2nd- Day 2 Called off due to conditions

Friday Sept 3rd- Day 3 Possibility of competition all Pro riders on call 100% of running probability.

Saturday Sept 4th- Day 4 of possible competition all Pro riders on call 100% possibility of running competition (Amateur and Women’s Divisions)
Meet and Greet with Jeff Hubbard, Jason Bitzer, Guilherme Tamega, Brian Stoehr, Spencer Skipper, and Kurt Pellegrino of the UFC.

SCION Jenks Pro Party at the Jenks Club Starting at 8pm all 21 and over welcome. VIP for Jenks Pro staff and riders (No cover).

Sunday Sept 5th- Jenks Pro Closing ceremony and awards at the scaffolding at Jenkinson’s Inlet Beach

The current title situation is below and it will provide a entertaining


Jeff Hubbard is currently in the lead with 1720
Guilherme Tamega and Jacob Romero have both 1610
Spencer Skipper and Dave Hubbard both have both 1130
 
That means:
-If Guilherme or Jacob wins there is no chance for Jeff Hubbard to win the title
-if Jeff looses in the semi finals, TAMEGA or ROMERO need at least a 3rd
-if Jeff gets a 4th, GT or ROMERO need at least a 2nd
-if Jeff gets a 3rd, GT or ROMERO need to win
-if Jeff or GT go to semi there is no chance for SKIPPER

For the Women's Pro,Karla Costa Taylor has secured her first event USBA National Title.

Trevor Kam has also secured his first ever Open Amateur National title.

The 13-18 Amateur divisions is being dominated by JB Hilen, however there is still room for Shabaz Soaia to over take him if JB goes down in the first round at Jenks.

EVENT UPDATES: SWELL HITS EARLY FOR DROP KNEE PRO

To all media and riders:


The SCION Jenks Pro kicked off with the Drop Knee Pro division today with epic 4 ft conditions. Sammy Morretino was a clear standout as the 15-year-old Kauaian dominated wave after wave with big snaps and barrels. Drop Knee Champ Brian Steroh was knocked out by Sammy and Dan Worley narrowly. Jeff Hubbard’s backside attack kept his drop knee roll going as he just arrived from a  2nd place finish at Sintra (IBA World Tour event).  Runner up to Jeff was North Carolina’s Ryan Rhodes.

After the Drop Knee Rd1 finished the following division was an expression session in the form of the USBA Team’s Challenge. The Hawaiian team of JB Hillen, Trevor Kam, Mark Balasbas, Jeff Hubbard and David Phillips dominated with two 9’s as their top scores winning the division and bragging rights!

The finals of the Drop Knee Pro will run Saturday with the men’s pro main rounds. Surf conditions are forecasted to be epic. Tomorrow will be round 1 of men’s pro with an 8am EST start time. Live webcast  http://www.usbatour.com/live.html
